How to curl your human hair wig?

For human hair wigs, you need to make sure that you are using some type of heat protectant spray before you put heat onto it, which is really going to help protect this wig just like if you were using heat on your own hair.

Something you should prepare:

  • wig spray
  • a curling ironer
  • hot comb
  • a hair stick or a hair wax

Step-by-step guidance:

  • Set the front section of the hair that is going to be around your face to the side and pin this up with some clips. Then, spray this very lightly with your wig spray. Before applying heat to any wig, make sure it is heat safe. Do a test strand, which will save you a lot of time, money and frustration.
  • Start about halfway on the wig and that is going to be the start of your curl. And then go ahead and go around the whole rest of the wig. It is suggested that you wait to the front last if you are not the beat of curlers and it will take couple practice to try to get it really good. Use hair stick on the front. Get it all nice and kind of covered in the areas you want, especially around the hairline. Then take your heat comb and place this and kind of warm it up and set it exactly how you want it to look like. Use a little refresher which is also a nice thing to keep in your purse.
  • Grab the hair and start where those curls are at, take your hands and just break these up around these together and give this a nice little shushing. And then take your hands and do kind of it again around the rest of the wig.
  • If you have where your curl is curly and you want to loosen it up a little bit, take it and make this one kind of solid curl so that you can see what that real barrel curl is going to look like. Grab your hot comb and just run it through the ends to help loosen that curl back up so it isn’t as tight.
  • Grab your wig spray and give the wig a nice little spray all over. Hold the hairspray at least 8 inches away from the wig to prevent product build up and a shellacked look. Spraying the wig after everything are all done and ready to go will help with the longevity of the curls and the tangles.
