When you receive your wig, you can make it look natural by cutting it. You can cut the wig shorter to increase its layering, or cut out bangs to create various styles. With just a little patience and carefulness, you can cut a perfect style by yourself at home.
- Place the wig on a wig stand
Firstly, place the wig on a wig stand and secure it to the stand with pins.
Please check to see if the wig stand is straight. If it's slanted, you may cut an asymmetrical haircut by accident!
- Remove any tangles
Gently comb out the wig from the ends to the roots with a wide-toothed comb to remove any tangles.
- Pluck before you cut
Plucking the hairline of a wig can make the wig look more natural. Carefully remove some density around the hairline with tweezers to imitate the density transition of natural hairline.
Some wigs are pre-plucked. But you can still check to see if the plucked hair matches your hairline. Wear it on your head to see the effect and then pluck extra hair if necessary.
- Cut the back section first
Normally you’d better start from the back. Divide it into small sections and move your fingers towards your desired length.
Try to clamp the hair between your middle and index fingers to make it smooth. Use scissors to trim the hair at a 45-degree angle toward the sky.
- Cut the whole wig
When continuing to trim new sections, you can refer to the back that you have already cut to ensure that all hair has the same length.
Finally, look around the wig and cut off any long and messy hair ends that may have been neglected. In addition, check the hair length on the two sides to ensure they are even.
Follow these easy steps, you can wear your wig confidently and comfortably.
